Background, Experience & Training
Congratulations on your pregnancy! My name is Michelle Lockett, and I am a DONA certified birth doula, as well as a certified hypnodoula. My background is in Psychology and Social Work, and one of my greatest strengths as a doula is in helping families create a warm, calm, peaceful space to give birth.
I work together with two other wonderful doulas as part of a team called Doula Rhythms. As your doula I will spend time getting to know you and your desires for your birth. I will provide information about the various choices you will make throughout the birth process, and then support the decisions you make. I am comfortable with the variety of ways that women choose to birth and am not attached to seeing birth go a particular way. What matters to me is that your decisions are respected and that your family is well supported throughout the birth process. I believe families deserve to experience the transformative life-altering journey of giving birth supported and without fear, and that is why I do what I do.
