Background, Experience & Training:
I have been married for 19 years and have 3 children born in 1992, 1994 and
2001. I have a BS in Child Development from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo as well
as a teaching credential. I worked in the infant program for Head Start while
attend college, then began my teaching career in the bay area as a elementary
school teacher where I taught for 15 years. After moving to the Sacramento
area in 2004, I became a full time mom for 6 years. In 2009 I trained with
DONA as both a birth and postpartum doula. I have completed the certification
requirements for both and await certification.
I had wonderful vaginal births and breastfed each of my children. I assisted in
the birthing process for several of my friends, which is when I realized I had a
passion for this work. I believe birth is a magical time and it’s my desire to help
make your birth an experience you cherish. My love of babies goes back to
childhood and my desire is to support you and your family in the postpartum
period is guided by this love.
